PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:   

The winter 2014 Gynecologic Oncology Group Educational Symposium is titled Clinical Trials for Rare Gynecologic Cancers, with noted Oncologists and Scientists serving as speakers and moderators. The targeted audiences are members and non‐members of the GOG research teams to include: Gynecologic Oncologists, Medical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Pathologists and other MDs engaged in gynecologic oncology research and/or clinical practice; Oncology Nurses, Nurse‐practitioners, and other interested Allied Health professionals. The speakers will focus their presentations on the unique aspects of formally and scientifically evaluating rare tumors, the distinctive clinical and molecular aspects of a variety of rare tumors, and current philosophies and research directions for them.

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:  

1.   Apply strategies to accrue patients to rare tumor studies and evaluate therapies

2.   Apply learned principles for managing the clinical, pathological, and molecular characteristics of rare tumors
