Communications Coordinator

The Communications Coordinator, reporting to the Associate Director of Communications, will support the development, management, and implementation of both short- and long-term corporate communications strategies. This role plays a key part in elevating the organization’s visibility among key stakeholders and advancing its reputation, mission, and strategic goals. Responsibilities include coordinating proposal development and contributing to social media, podcasts, newsletters, videos, website content, and education initiatives aligned with the GOG Mission and Vision.

This position will not have direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

The Communications Coordinator will assist in planning, creating, and delivering compelling content across digital and multimedia platforms. This position is well-suited for a creative, proactive storyteller who excels at managing multiple projects, maintaining organization, and working across channels to bring ideas to life.

Additionally, the individual will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent branding, clear messaging, and timely execution of marketing and communication activities.

Content & Campaign Development

  • Create, schedule, and manage content for social media platforms, ensuring alignment with brand voice and marketing goals
  • Draft, design, and distribute newsletters and email campaigns
  • Support the development of marketing videos, including scripting, coordination, and basic editing or production support
  • Assist with podcast production, including episode coordination, publishing, show notes, and promotion
  • Develop presentations and visual materials for internal and external audiences

Digital & Platform Management

  • Update and maintain website content using WordPress or similar CMS platforms
  • Schedule and monitor social media content using Hootsuite or comparable tools
  • Manage email lists, templates, and analytics using Constant Contact or similar platforms
  • Support podcast hosting, publishing, and analytics through podcast platforms

Design & Branding

  • Create and edit visual assets using tools such as Canva, Adobe InDesign, and Photoshop
  • Ensure all materials follow brand guidelines and maintain a consistent look and feel
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate ideas into visually compelling materials

Analytics & Optimization

  • Track performance metrics for social media, newsletters, and digital campaigns
  • Assist with reporting insights and recommendations to improve engagement and reach

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1–3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or digital content development
  • Experience working with or similar to the following platforms and tools:
    • Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
    • Microsoft Copilot or other AI-assisted productivity tools
    • Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign
    • Canva
    • WordPress or similar content management systems
    • Constant Contact or comparable email marketing platforms
    • Hootsuite or similar social media management tools
    • Podcast hosting platforms

Preferred Skills & Attributes

  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail
  • Comfortable juggling multiple projects and deadlines
  • Basic understanding of video and audio production workflows
  • Creative thinker with a collaborative, can-do attitude
  • Familiarity with analytics and performance reporting is a plus

Salary range: $55,000-$70,000

Paid Holidays – New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr’s Birthday, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following and Christmas Day. Two personal business days a year after completion of one year of employment beginning January of the calendar year). One day if start date is before October 1 or if you are a part-time employee.
