Advances in LGSOC: Optimizing Patient Outcomes Through MAPK and FAK Pathway Inhibition

Activity Overview

The GOG Foundation, Inc. and GOG Partners welcomes gynecologic oncologists, oncologists, advanced practitioners (NP/PA/PharmD), and other clinicians who treat patients with gynecologic malignancies to join us in-person for the Advances in LGSOC: Optimizing Patient Outcomes Through MAPK and FAK Pathway Inhibition, an Educational Symposium being presented at the 2026 Ponte Vedra Beach Women’s Health & Robotics in Ponte Vedra, Florida on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 7:30 am – 8:30 am ET.

Low-grade serous ovarian cancer (LGSOC) is a biologically distinct subtype of ovarian cancer characterized by unique molecular drivers, relative resistance to conventional chemotherapy, and an evolving treatment landscape increasingly shaped by targeted therapies. Advances in molecular profiling have enhanced understanding of the MAPK and focal adhesion kinase (FAK) signaling pathways, creating new opportunities for biomarker-driven treatment strategies in patients with advanced and recurrent disease. 

This engaging symposium will provide a practical review of emerging evidence supporting targeted treatment approaches in LGSOC, including the role of KRAS mutation testing and therapeutic strategies directed at the MAPK and FAK pathways. Faculty experts will discuss current standards of care, treatment sequencing considerations, patient selection, and strategies to optimize outcomes through proactive management of treatment-related adverse events. Through panel discussions and expert perspectives, participants will gain actionable insights for incorporating molecularly informed therapies into routine clinical practice and improving outcomes for patients with LGSOC. 

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to: 

1. Evaluate emerging clinical evidence supporting targeted therapeutic approaches in advanced and recurrent LGSOC, including agents directed at MAPK and FAK signaling pathways. 

1. Incorporate molecular testing, including KRAS mutation assessment and other relevant biomarkers, into treatment selection and sequencing decisions for patients with LGSOC. 

1. Apply evidence-based strategies for the management of targeted therapy-related adverse events to optimize treatment adherence, quality of life, and clinical outcomes.
